First Transgender Doctor of Pakistan Gets Job at Karachi



The first Transgender Doctor Sara Gul got house job order at Jinnah Hospital Karachi

On the directions of Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, first transgender doctor of Pakistan Doctor Sara Gul was given appointment order of house job at Jinnah Post Graduate Medical Center (JPMC), Karachi

Dr. Sara Gul was called on Prof. Shahid Rasool, Executive Director, JPMC, during which he was given house job order.

Syed Murad Ali Shah, Chief Minister Sindh congratulated Dr Sara Gul on getting house job order and said that the government of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) is taking steps to bring transgender community to the forefront in every field. He further said that we will bring honor and respect to transgender people in every field.

It may be recalled that Dr Sara Gul hailing from Karachi was awarded MBSS degree during Jan 2022 since became the first transgender doctor of Pakistan.

Doctor Sara Gul had passed final professional examination of MBBS from Jinnah Medical and Dental College, Karachi.

Earlier, during September 2021, a twenty years old transgender namely Nisha Rao, hailing from Karachi became the first transgender in the country who got admission Master of Philosophy (M.Phil).

Nisha Rao had become the first transgender person to get law degree from Muslim Law College, Karachi during 2018.

After obtaining law degree, Nisha Rao became member of Karachi Bar Association (KBA) during 2020 and began practicing law.

After two years practicing, Nisha Rao got admission in Karachi University (KU) for M.Phil.

In March 2018, another transgender namely Mavia Malik was honored to become the first newscaster in a Pakistani news channel.

Before, Kami Asad had won the award for the first transgender model and made entry in the film world in 2017.

Special passport for eunuchs was also issued for the first time in the history of the Pakistan during 2017.

During census 2017, transgender persons were counted separately for the first time and there are 10418 transgender persons in Pakistan as per census of 2017.
